Hangzhou

Look at my hands, they are turning blue!

Right in the middle of the lake, separate the bright from the dark.

A picture could paint a thousand words.

Continuation part 2

We had a short summer break in Singapore, Gabby went to Sentosa, the Zoo, Pasir Ris and West Coast Park and spent the remaining days eating, shopping and more eating and shopping. Before we knew it, it is time to fly back to Shanghai, our luggage were very full and I was overweight in every sense. Exciting times ahead and Gabby is going to start school!

Going to school was a big step of faith for both Gabby and us, it dawned upon me that my baby has grown into a little girl when she was in uniform for the first time! I could remember vividly her first day of school, she kept crying and crying when we were about to leave but the strange thing was once we left, she stopped crying within minutes. She is good and tugging our heartstrings!

Gabby has just traveled to Hangzhou. She was so terrified of those pumkins and masked man at the theme park ... hopefully there is no spirit of fear in her hence the title, lots of peace!

Recently Gabby has a habit of playing hide and seek. She likes to hide in the kitchen space which is a nice fit for her size. Then she likes to hide herself in our wardrobe. Today when she did not get what she wanted, she threw a small tantrum and cried her way into the wardrobe. The cry lasted only a couple of seconds and she came out running towards me, thinking I will relent. Once she realized that she could not get her way, she repeated the same and this goes on for a few rounds until my heart soften, well I didn’t want to waste the moisturizer that could be washed away by her tears.

27 Nov is the day before one of my major events and the past weeks of overdrive has weakened me. Thankfully this is also the time, Gabby has prayed for me and it is a prayer of recovery. By faith, I shall be well and tomorrow event will be a great success!

Continuation

My last update was 31 Jan 2008. Time really flies, we have experienced Spring, Summer, Autumn and now Winter again! Just in case I would like to read previous posts, it is at http://patrol-gabby-faith.spaces.live.com/

In the last 10 months, Gabby:

1) has celebrated her 2 yrs old birthday,

2) gone to She San and eating pop corns was the highlight of the day for her,

3) had her first horse ride and visited the golden rooster lake aka "Jin Ji Hu" at Suzhou after a 12 hours journey,

4) went to Qing Dao for our first beach holiday wearing at least shirt and jeans due to the cold weather, flew her first kite which we upgraded several times from 10rmb to 100+rmb!, pretended to eat her star fish and had her first pets in the form of 2 tortoises but lasted only a couple of hours as the airport disallowed any live pets on plane. :(

5) registered her first school in Singapore during our summer holidays, "Carpe Diem",

6) increased her vocab to a few hundred words or even thousands,

7) understood English, Chinese and Cantonese without us deliberately teaching her Cantonese!

8) can skip, initially raising her right arm for better balance and then able to hop and now jump about 1 step ahead,

9) has gone to her first school in Shanghai and spoke her first " lah" effortlessly albeit a bit slow. She will say, "I want to do this ............lah!"

10) spitted out her first fish bone,

11) showed her first pretentious laugh that goes "hee hee"
